Graphics & Extended Reality Lab, University of Cyprus

The University of Cyprus (UCY), established in 1989 in Nicosia, is the first public university in Cyprus. It focuses on education, research, and contributing to Cyprus' cultural, social, and economic development, being the leading institution of higher education in Cyprus. UCY has 8 faculties offering programs in various fields, with 22 departments, 11 research units, and over 7,000 students. UCY is a hub of cutting-edge research, securing significant local, EU, and international funding. Renowned for both its research and teaching excellence, the university proudly hosts Nobel Laureate Professor Christopher Pissarides alongside a community of world-class academics who inspire innovation and shape future leaders.

The Graphics & Extended Reality Lab, part of UCY's Computer Science Department, specializes in computer graphics, serious games, character and behavioral animation, motion capture, rendering, deep learning, and 3D vision. The lab has published extensively on top-tier journals and international conferences, while it has several ongoing projects and a large team of researchers.

CYENS Centre of Excellence (CoE) is Cyprus’ leading research hub in Information and Communication Technologies, specializing in Interactive Media, Smart Systems, and Emerging Technologies. At CYENS, cutting-edge research meets real-world impact, with a mission to bridge academic excellence and innovation beyond the university setting. CYENS is a unique collaboration between the country’s three public universities (University of Cyprus, Cyprus University of Technology, and Open University of Cyprus), the Municipality of Nicosia, and two world-renowned partners: the Max Planck Institute for Informatics (Germany) and University College London (UK).

Terrestrial Ecosystems Management Lab, Open University of Cyprus

The Open University of Cyprus (OUC, est. 2002) is a distance education public university delivering teaching to students not physically present in a traditional educational setting, via a state of the art technological infrastructure and educational methodology. It offers 29 undergraduate and Master's programmes and 10 doctoral programs, in Greek and English to almost 8500 students. OUC follows the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). Some of the programs are joint with Universities in Cyprus, Greece and the USA as a result of a large network of international collaborations.

Biodiversity Conservation Lab, University of Ioannina

The University of Ioannina (UoI), established in 1964, is a leading public institution in Greece, fostering education, research, and regional development. It serves over 15,000 students with 600 academic staff, 170 teaching fellows, and 130 technical staff. UoI offers diverse postgraduate programs, hosting 1,300 Master’s and 2,200 Doctoral students. With 24 departments across 10 faculties, supported by 60+ research centers and laboratories, the university is a hub for innovation and academic excellence.
